Mustafa Bilge Satkın is an independent, award-winning documentary photographer based in Istanbul. His work explores themes of social injustice, climate change, and migration, with a primary focus on the Middle East. His long-term project, Drowned History, is part of the collection at the Preus Museum of Photography in Norway. Satkın has received numerous honors, including the 78th POY Environmental Vision Award, the Leica Society International Grant, the Lucie Foundation’s “Photo Taken” Grant, the Getty Images Editorial Grant, and the Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Project Award. He has held solo exhibitions at the Istanbul Photo Festival, Kranj Photo Festival, Vienna Leica Gallery, and Qatar Museums’ Tasweer Photo Festival. His photography has been published by Anadolu Agency, Redux Pictures, and Getty Images. He is a member of Diversify Photo and serves as a volunteer photographer for the UNDP.
